License & Usage Rights for tracks from Theme Music for Podcasts, by Box 7 Media, LLC
Last Updated on January 1st, 2025
Welcome to the Licensing Usage for Theme Music for Podcasts, produced by Box 7 Media. This page outlines exactly how you may use our tracks, what’s included in your royalty-free license, and when you may need a commercial upgrade. Our goal is simple: protect our creative work while giving YOU the flexibility to create freely and confidently.
1. License Grant — Royalty-Free for Creative Use
When you purchase or download a Track from the Theme Music for Podcasts website, you receive a royalty-free, non-exclusive, non-transferable license that allows you to use the Track across a variety of non-commercial creative projects.
✔ What This License Includes
You may use the Track in any personal or creative project where you are not generating direct revenue or commercial profit, such as:
- Podcast episodes, including free or passion-driven shows
- YouTube videos that are not monetized
- Social media content, including reels, stories, shorts, and posts
- Non-commercial audiobooks, meditation tracks, and guided content
- Course materials, provided they are not being sold
- Presentations or webinars used for education or community events
- Personal branding projects used to enhance your message or story
✔ What “Royalty-Free” Means
- You only pay once — there are no recurring fees, royalties, usage reports, or backend percentages required for permitted uses.
✔ What You Can Do
- Edit, trim, loop, or mix the Track into your project
- Use the Track in multiple personal creative projects
- Add voiceovers, sound design, or additional music
- Store your downloaded Track for future personal projects
As long as the usage stays non-commercial, you’re fully covered.
2. Restrictions — Commercial Use Requires a Separate License
While our Tracks are royalty-free, the standard license does not cover projects that generate income or are created for commercial, promotional, or corporate purposes.
- Marketing videos created for businesses, brands, or clients
- Corporate presentations or training that generate sales
- Audiobooks sold on Audible, ACX, or paid platforms
- Podcast intros used by sponsored or monetized shows
- Television, film, or commercial YouTube placements
- Brand endorsements or influencer-generated paid content
- Any project that earns revenue using the Track
Why Commercial Licensing Is Separate
Commercial use increases distribution, revenue potential, and visibility — and requires a more comprehensive licensing structure. Commercial licenses ensure proper permissions for:
Wider audiences
Paid distribution channels
Business-level usage
Brand protection for both parties
If you are unsure whether your usage qualifies as commercial, contact us — we will guide you.
3. Prohibited Uses
To protect the integrity of our music and the rights of our composers, the following uses are strictly prohibited under all license types:
🚫 You May NOT:
- Claim the Track as your own original work
- Register the Track (or your project using it) with YouTube Content ID
- Sell, resell, redistribute, or give away the Track as a standalone audio file
- Upload the Track to any streaming platform as music (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, etc.)
- Use the Track in content that promotes hate, violence, discrimination, or illegal activity
- Use the Track in defamatory, harmful, or misleading content
- Share the raw audio file with clients, collaborators, or other creators
If your project involves multiple collaborators, please ensure that only you — the license holder — incorporate the Track into the final production.
4. Ownership
All Tracks available through Theme Music for Podcasts remain the exclusive intellectual property of Box 7 Media and its composers.
🛑 You Do NOT Own the Music
- Your purchase provides usage rights, not ownership or authorship.
✔ What You Do Receive
- You receive permission to use the Track in accordance with the license terms, but you may not:
- Claim copyright to the composition or recording
- Alter the Track in a way that misrepresents authorship
- Upload the Track to public fingerprinting systems or registries
✔ Why This Matters
- Maintaining ownership ensures:
- Legal protection for creators
- Consistent quality and distribution
- A clear licensing path for creators and businesses
- Think of your license like a “ticket” to use the Track — not ownership of the music itself.
5. Credit & Attribution
Attribution is not required, but it is always appreciated and helps support more content creation.
If you choose to provide credit, please use:
“Music licensed through Theme Music for Podcasts – Box 7 Media.”
Credits help bring more visibility to the libraries we build for creators like you — but again, they are optional.
6. No Warranty
All Tracks are offered as-is, with no guarantees.
We Do Not Guarantee:
- Compatibility with your software or hardware
- That the Track will fit your creative vision
- That the Track will remain available on the Site indefinitely
- That third-party claims will never arise (though extremely rare)
- Limitation of Liability
Box 7 Media is not liable for:
Any damages from misuse
Losses from improper editing or integration
Costs associated with re-editing, re-recording, or replacing Tracks
Our Tracks are designed to be widely compatible and accessible, but ultimately, they are used at your own discretion.
7. Termination
Your license remains valid as long as you follow the terms of this Agreement.
Reasons a License May Be Terminated:
- Using a Track for prohibited purposes
- Using a Track commercially without a commercial upgrade
- Redistributing or reselling the Track
- Uploading the Track to content ID systems
- Violating copyright or misrepresenting ownership
If Terminated:
You must immediately:
Remove the Track from all current and future projects
Stop distributing any media containing the Track
Delete the Track from all storage systems
We do this to protect the value and authenticity of the music.
8. Updates to This Agreement
We occasionally revise licensing terms to reflect:
- Legal changes
- Platform requirements
- Industry standards
- New product offerings
When Updates Occur:
The updated terms will be posted on this page. Continued use of Tracks constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
